The Book "holes" written by Louis Sachar

"Holes" is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats that goes to Camp Green Lake for eighteen months.The setting of this book is Texas.The reason he gets sent to Camp Green Lake is becuase he was accused of stealing a pair of shoes from a famous athlete. His mother, father, and grandfather all live in an apartment. His dad is trying to invent a way to recycle old, used shoes. But they are threatend to get kicked out of the apartment because of the smell that is coming from they're home. When Stanley gets to Camp Green Lake, he notices that there isn't a lake or any greenary. He soon finds out he has to dig holes the whole time he is there. He meets an adult name Mr. Sir and he is pretty mean. Stanley also meets a boy named Hector Zeroni but everybody calls him "Zero" becuase he is disliked. Stanley and his family are so to be said "cursed" because of his no good, dirty rotten, pig stealin', great, great, grandfather. But Stanley and Hector run away from Camp Green Lake (even though they really have no place to go) and end up returning to Camp at night and digging a hole and finding a treasure that will get Stanley and Hector out of Camp Green Lake. The treasure they find will also make Stanley and Hector rich and having Camp Green Lake shut down for good, plus Stanley's curse ends up being reversed!There is also a theme to this which is perserverence and building friendships.
